SIMMACHINES ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBERS & COMPLETION OF SERIES A FUNDING ROUND
Chicago, Illinois, USA – April 3, 2019 – simMachines, Inc., the leader in Explainable AI / Machine Learning (XAI) applications, announced the addition of John Morris, former CEO of Cleversafe, who led the company through a major sales ramp and its sale to IBM in 2016, as well as Jeff Liesendahl, Managing Partner at Island Peak Capital, who was CEO / Co-Founder of Accertify, a leader in fraud prevention, which sold to American Express in 2010. John and Jeff join current board members Adarsh Arora, PhD, Founder and CEO of Reputada and Lisle Technology Partners, Robert Zieserl, simMachines CEO and Arnoldo Muller – Molina, PhD, simMachines CTO.

John Morris served as CEO of Cleversafe for four years, ultimately selling the company to IBM for $1.3B in 2016. Prior roles include serving as EVP of Worldwide Field Operations for Juniper Networks, where he helped add more than a billion dollars of top line growth. Additionally, John spent over twenty years at IBM, as GM of several divisions as well as a member of IBM’s Global Marketing Council and Senior Leadership Team.
Prior to founding Accertify, Jeff Liesendahl was CFO of RedPrairie Corporation and Controller and original management team member of Orbitz, the 3rd largest travel site with over $4B in online bookings. Jeff was also CFO of Globetrotter Vacations, the second largest division of Global Vacations Group, and held other senior level positions across multiple organizations including as Senior Partner for KPMG in its High Technology Group.
John and Jeff join Adarsh Arora who, prior to founding Reputada and Lisle Technology Partners, was founder of Athena Security which was acquired by Solarwinds (NYSE:SWI) in August 2012. Prior to Athena, Adarsh created, managed and nurtured multiple successful start-ups (Peritus Software Services and Vista Technologies), to maturity, including an IPO that created a $500 million market capitalization. Adarsh is an industry professor and Entrepreneur in Residence at IIT School of Applied Technology and serves at the Farley Center for Entrepreneurship and on the Innovation Advisory Board at the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University.
In addition to adding John and Jeff to its board, simMachines recently completed a Series A funding round, bringing total capital raised to $8 million since 2016. simMachines will use the new funding to expand is operations in both Chicago and Costa Rica to support a broadening set of innovative, high impact XAI enabled applications that it markets and sells to large scale brands and technology, consulting and agency partners on a global basis.
